Sewing Basics is getting a little holiday twist! Come learn the basics of sewing while making a simple Christmas stocking you can take home and hang up for the holidays.
We’ll start from the beginning—getting familiar with your sewing machine, learning the basic tools and terminology, and practicing the skills you need to confidently sew on your own. Then we’ll put those skills to work by making a Christmas stocking!
Everyone is welcome! This class is perfect if you’ve never touched a sewing machine before, but you definitely don’t have to be brand new to sewing to join us. If you already know the basics and just want a fun, low-pressure time time to sew and a cute handmade stocking, come sew with us!
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Everything you need is provided! Your sewing machine, fabric, thread, pattern, notions, and all other supplies are included in the cost of the class.
Just show up ready to sew!

Never sewn before? Perfect. Sew all the time? You’re welcome too! We’ll cover the basics together, and everyone will leave with a finished Christmas stocking and a little more confidence behind a sewing machine.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Hem & Holler is a small, one-woman business, and last-minute cancellations can make it difficult to fill workshop spots. Because of this, all class purchases are nonrefundable. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your seat to another person by notifying Hem & Holler before the class begins. If you cancel with more than 72 hours’ notice, you may receive a digital store credit toward a future workshop. Store credits never expire. Cancellations made with less than 72 hours’ notice are not eligible for refunds, transfers, or credits.
All workshops require a minimum of three participants. If Hem & Holler must cancel a class due to low enrollment, illness, or unforeseen circumstances, students will be notified by email and may choose a full refund or credit toward a future class. Hem & Holler is not responsible for additional costs, including travel or independently purchased materials.
