I’m Kaitlyn! I’m an East Texas native and mom of two. I love being able to look in my closet and love everything in it. Each piece handmade to fit me perfectly. I want to teach you to do the same.
I’m a firm believer that everyone is “that” crafty—you might just need someone to show you where to start.
Hem & Holler Creative Arts Studio is my little corner of the East Texas creative community. I’m a one-woman show bringing sewing workshops and hands-on creative experiences to gathering spaces around Tyler, Texas—all with the goal of making sewing feel a whole lot less intimidating and a whole lot more fun.
At the heart of Hem & Holler is my love for teaching people to make clothes they’re genuinely excited to wear—pieces that fit their bodies, feel like them, and come with the extra little boost of knowing, “I made this!”
Whether you’ve never touched a sewing machine or you’re ready to grow the skills you already have, my workshops are beginner-friendly, hands-on, and designed to help you build confidence as you go. No perfection required. Just come ready to learn, make something, and maybe surprise yourself with what you can do

Choose from Sewing Basics, one-day workshops, or multi-session series based on what you want to learn or make. Each class listing will tell you exactly what we’re making, what you’ll learn, and how much time we’ll spend together.
I take care of the supplies. Your registration includes the materials, tools, workspace, and a sewing machine to use during class—unless otherwise noted. If you love your own machine, you’re always welcome to bring it along.
During class, we’ll work through the project together from start to finish. I’ll demonstrate each step, help when you get stuck, and give you plenty of time to actually sew. No need to keep up with anyone else or already know what you’re doing.
You’ll leave with something you made yourself and the skills to keep making.
Join Hem & Holler for a free community craft night! Bring your current work in progress (WIP), grab a coffee or pastry from The Foundry, and enjoy an evening of creating and connecting with fellow makers. Whether you sew, knit, crochet, embroider, paint, journal, or craft in another way, all creative projects are welcome.
Come and go anytime every 3rd Thursday between 5:00 and 9:00 PM. No registration required—just bring your project and join us!
