Hem & Holler Creative Arts Studio is an East Texas based pop-up bringing sewing workshops and hands-on creative experiences to local gathering spaces. Our mission is to make sewing approachable, inspiring, and empowering while building a welcoming community where creativity can thrive.At the heart of what we do is teaching people how to create clothing they'll love to wear—garments that fit well, reflect their personal style, and help them feel confident in their own skin.Whether you're threading a sewing machine for the very first time or looking to grow your skills, our beginner-friendly workshops are designed to build confidence, teach practical techniques, and encourage you to create with intention. We believe everyone deserves the joy of making something with their own hands and the confidence that comes from wearing something made just for them.Beginner Sewing Class • 3-Hour Workshop
WORKSHOP DETAILS:
In this one-day workshop we will cover all the sewing fundamentals, as you learn how to navigate your way around a machine as we make a fun drawstring bag. By the end of class you will leave feeling confident around a sewing machine and ready to work independently on your next project.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
All fabric, notions, and equipment are provided. Each participant will have a dedicated sewing machine to work on during class. Please reach out if you plan to bring your own sewing machine.

SKILL LEVEL
Super Beginners ages 16+. No prior sewing experience is needed. This is a great first class if you are interested in a garment workshop and would like to build confidence in the basics.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Hem & Holler is a small, one-woman business, and last-minute cancellations can make it difficult to fill workshop spots. Because of this, all class purchases are nonrefundable. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your seat to another person by notifying Hem & Holler before the class begins. If you cancel with more than 72 hours’ notice, you may receive a digital store credit toward a future workshop. Store credits never expire. Cancellations made with less than 72 hours’ notice are not eligible for refunds, transfers, or credits.
All workshops require a minimum of three participants. If Hem & Holler must cancel a class due to low enrollment, illness, or unforeseen circumstances, students will be notified by email and may choose a full refund or credit toward a future class. Hem & Holler is not responsible for additional costs, including travel or independently purchased materials.

Nervous Beginner • 3.5-Hour Workshop

WORKSHOP DETAILS:
The Margot Skirt is a timeless A-line skirt designed for effortless, everyday wear. In this beginner-friendly garment workshop, you’ll learn how to read a sewing pattern, take measurements, cut fabric, and construct your own skirt from start to finish. With a comfortable elastic waistband and customizable finishing details, this skirt will become a wardrobe staple you’ll love wearing again and again.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Your registration includes the Margot Skirt pattern, all fabric, elastic, and sewing supplies needed to complete your project. Each participant is encouraged to bring their own sewing machine. Sewing machines are also available to borrow with advance registration.

Nervous Beginner • 4-Hour Workshop

The Rowan Top is a modern, versatile sleeveless top designed for woven fabrics. Featuring bust darts for shaping and three neckline options (we'll be making View C in class), this pattern creates a clean, polished garment that works beautifully in everything from lightweight cottons to structured denim.

Your registration includes the Rowan Tank pattern, all fabric, and sewing supplies needed to complete your project. Each participant is encouraged to bring their own sewing machine. Sewing machines are also available to borrow with advance registration.

Bring your current work in progress (WIP), grab a coffee or pastry from The Foundry, and enjoy an evening of creating and connecting with fellow makers. Whether you sew, knit, crochet, embroider, paint, journal, or craft in another way, all creative projects are welcome.
