Ornella Top
Beginner •
WHEN: Saturday, September 19th • 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
WHERE: Eclectic Atelier • Hosted in partnership with Ana
WORKSHOP DETAILS
You’ll learn how to navigate a garment sewing pattern, understand the construction order, and build confidence as you turn flat pieces of fabric into a finished garment you can actually wear. We’ll work through the pattern step-by-step, from cutting your fabric and transferring markings to constructing and finishing your top.
This workshop is the perfect next step for beginners who are ready to move from accessories into garment sewing.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Your registration includes the Ornella Top pattern, fabric, notions, and a sewing machine to use during class. Your measurements and pattern size will have been determined during Part 2, so we can jump right into making your top!
PLEASE NOTE: This registration is for ONE individual class in the four-part Handmade Head to Toe series. It does not include the other three classes. Each class must be purchased separately, or you can register for the full four-week series if you’d like to attend all four.
SKILLS PRACTICED
Reading and following a garment sewing pattern
Understanding pattern sizing and ease
Fabric cutting and transferring markings
Garment construction
Sewing seams and finishing edges
Working with woven fabrics
Pattern assembly and construction
Building garment-sewing confidence and MORE!
SKILL LEVEL
Beginners ages 16+ who have some basic sewing machine experience. No previous garment-sewing experience is required.
We’ll move at a beginner-friendly pace with step-by-step instruction and hands-on guidance throughout the workshop.
FABRIC DETAILS
Your top will be made using 3 oz, 100% cotton fabric featuring traditional India ink block printing. Because these fabrics are hand block printed, slight imperfections, variations in the print, and subtle differences in color are natural and make each piece unique.
A NOTE ABOUT THE SPACE
This workshop is hosted in partnership with Ana of Eclectic Atelier. We’re excited to spend another evening sewing, learning, and connecting with fellow makers!
CANCELLATION POLICY
Hem & Holler is a small, one-woman business, and last-minute cancellations can make it difficult to fill workshop spots. Because of this, all class purchases are nonrefundable. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your seat to another person by notifying Hem & Holler before the class begins.
If you cancel with more than 72 hours’ notice, you may receive a digital store credit toward a future workshop. Store credits never expire. Cancellations made with less than 72 hours’ notice are not eligible for refunds, transfers, or credits.
All workshops require a minimum of three participants. If Hem & Holler must cancel the workshop due to low enrollment, illness, or unforeseen circumstances, students will be notified by email and may choose a full refund or credit toward a future class. Hem & Holler is not responsible for additional costs, including travel or independently purchased materials.
By registering for this workshop, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms, conditions, and cancellation policy.
